We are delighted to announce that the Open Day at Leicester Marina on Monday 25th May was a success!
As 12pm approached and the gates opened, Julie Mayer from BBC Radio Leicester spoke with us live on air! The King Lear Model Boat Club attracted dozens of watchers on the banks of the Marina with their impressive model boats; we had Soar Valley Archery nestled in the trees (for protection of flying arrows!) There was even a fire engine that greeted visitors on entrance!
Children jumped up and down on a bouncy castle all day, whilst parents and pets sat on straw bales with a burger or hot dog and in some cases a pint of locally brewed cider!
It was a lovely atmosphere with a tombola, hook a dook, 'name the bear' competition and by the end of the day the band provided entertainment as we all got a little tired.
